Year 5AM attend a Saxons and Vikings workshop
We have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a workshop based on the Saxons and Vikings linked to our history topics. We listened to the story of Beowulf and joined in, taking on acting parts and reciting kennings and riddles. We were very good at them. We discussed crime and punishment, learning about how punishments were given to people who broke the laws. We were fascinated to learn that it was not always violence which was handed out as punishment. We also took part in creating our own mini scenes based on life during the Saxon and Viking times. We had lots of fun!
