Welcome to Newstead Primary School. Our school is situated within the Blurton area and provides high quality education for children aged 3 to 11 years of age. Our newly built modern building was officially opened by the very first pupil of the original 1954 Newstead School, Michael Francis, on Tuesday 12th July 2005.
Our school is a most attractive and colourful learning environment and is set in extensive grounds providing superb outdoor facilities including an outdoor classroom with WIFI internet access. A great deal of time and effort is spent by the staff in providing the best possible learning experiences for all of our pupils.
Each classroom opens out onto either the playground or the playing fields and have state of the art technology including Interactive Whiteboards, WIFI internet and laptop computers for the children.
Both the Nursery and Reception classrooms have been designed to foster a free flow curriculum where children are encouraged to access independent learning both in and out doors.
Visitors to the school are most welcome and we strongly recommend that all prospective parents come and take a look at our school in action.
Our examination results in English and Maths in 2011 have put our school in the top 1% nationally. We are all very proud of this achievement and feel that our commitment to the children is reflected in these fantastic results.
We hope that you enjoy looking at our website and look forward to meeting you soon.
